Join us for the St. Tikhon’s Memorial Day Pilgrimage — May 23-26, 2025.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the repose of St. Tikhon of Moscow
St. Tikhon’s Monastery warmly invites you to come sing with our Festival Choir for the 121st annual Memorial Day Day Pilgrimage! This year’s pilgrimage commemorates the 100th anniversary of the repose of our founder, St. Tikhon of Moscow. We hope you will join us for this wonderful weekend of services, events and music.
Festival singers will enjoy two days of rehearsals conducted by St. Tikhon’s choral director and faculty member Anastasia Kappanadze, culminating in the celebration of the Memorial Day Hierarchical Liturgy on Monday, May 26th.
You are invited to attend Pilgrimage services and events held throughout the weekend. There will also be a special concert performance by St. Tikhon’s Choir Sunday afternoon, commemorating the 100-year anniversary of the repose of St. Tikhon of Moscow.
The Festival Choir rehearsal schedule:
Saturday May 24
1-3pm Festival Choir Rehearsal
Sunday May 25
4:30-6:30pm Festival Choir Rehearsal
Monday May 26
8:30-9:45am Liturgy Warm-up
10am-12:30pm Memorial Day Liturgy

YourFestival Choir registration fee goes directly to cover the cost of printing scores, as well as to support the St. Tikhon’s music program.
Music repertoire will be sent out to registrants early May. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the pieces before our rehearsals Memorial Day Weekend. Printed scores will be provided upon arrival.
All rehearsals will be held in the St. Tikhon’s Monastery Music Center. Monday’s Pilgrimage Liturgy will be held under the Pilgrimage Liturgy tent in front of All Saints Chapel located to the east of the Monastery Church.
Please note: Meals & lodging are not included. You are welcome to share in any pilgrimage meals provided by the monastery. For a schedule of meals and all other activities please refer to the full weekend schedule HERE.

About our Festival Choir Director, Anastasia Kappanadze:
Anastasia is one of the founders of the St. Tikhon’s Music Program, and currently directs the monastery’s Mixed Choir for Sunday Liturgies as well as teaches Liturgics/Order of Services. She has taught music in various New York schools and performed with several choral groups in the Northeast. Since starting work at St. Tikhon’s Monastery, she has directed the Women’s Choir, taught liturgical music for St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, as well as offering private classes in musicianship. Anastasia is on faculty in ROCOR’s Synodal School of Liturgical Music and OCA’s online music classes, and is particularly interested in the training of current and future generations of Orthodox church musicians in North America.
